I haven't spoken about FB ads lately. Thought I'd chime in with a bit of results that we're experiencing.

In short, for the past several weeks, I'm running multiple, overlapping ads. 1 is a special offer with 3 others being actual event shots. In the past couple of weeks, I've seen a half-dozen leads come in with 1 booked, 2 others probable and just got off the phone with another that is verbally committed. The feedback from the girl today was telling. She loved one of the sets we just posted, which happens to be in her immediate area. She also mentioned, "I kept seeing your name pop up on facebook. After I showed my friends your pictures they told me I'd better snag you if you're available."

I'm guessing it pays to have 3 or 4 different pitches popping up on their feeds. I'm guessing she probably saw my ads 10+ times before she reached out to begin a conversation. On the FB ads, I'm typically running a targeted campaign; female, 18-55, 75 mile radius, engaged-single-relationship status. I set them up for timed delivery between 6a and 12a (midnight), 7 days per week. On average, I'm seeing a 20% response rate with the best ad getting clicks 40% of the time. The CPC runs between $.01 and $.04 each. I typically run an ad for a month and give it a $75-$100 budget.

Pair this up with the site re-vamp, and I'm working hard on SEO, and I expect to see our organic search rate jump in the next few weeks. We should be sitting good by then.

That's pretty darn good! My Google Adwords campaign ends on Friday for good. I did book a low paying Friday afternoon 1 to 5 pm alumni picnic due to it recently, but that booking was only $375. I spent $500 on the ad for the past month. I also am waiting on a deposit back from a bride that requested a contract...that was 3 weeks ago. She apologized to me for taking so long as she went out of town for 10 days and didn't know there was an expiration date on the contract (Makes me wonder if she really read the agreement)...That is a Sunday wedding booked at $1,000. She told me she would drop it in mail yesterday, so I expect that to be a confirmed booking by Friday. So $1,350 in gigs off of $500 spent for the month.

No more google adwords though for a long while. I've reached my advertisting limit for the year. I may try these Facebook ads a bit later this summer though. Maybe try a few $5 to $10 runs and see if I get any bites.

Did you book anything with that FREE DJ offer you were talking about yet?

3 so far and I have 3 more in the thinking about it phase. That little offer is clicking for some reason. I've gotten some feedback from a few clients that "I was seeing your ads everywhere!" that tells me running multiple, concurrent ads works. I currently have the free DJ ad running, 2 sneak peeks, a getting ready gallery. I booked $5.5k this past Saturday, expect another $3.5k to come in and have had another 4-5 leads come in the past few days. For ad budget, I'm roughly running $300/month, which is much less than even WW was charging, and with magnitudes better results.

I have a feeling a lot of future brides/grooms will be on face book this weekend with the Holiday coming up. I think I might test the waters with a couple of $10 or $15 ads to try it out. Maybe run the ads Friday through Tuesday. If I get 1 booking out of it then that is gravy.

I still don't have enough data to be definitive but my gut tells me that multiple ad thing is a big factor. I'm also like the way they're doing an "Invite" button on every post like. I'm inviting everyone who clicks to come like my biz page and getting about 1/3 of them to do it. Most of my leads now are coming in via FB message, not email so I'm having to actively monitor that account now. Go for it.

Just got the invoice in for FB ads for June. $373. That's spread across 11 different boosted posts, as well as a couple of lead generation ads (complete losers, btw). For that princely sum of money I've got 3 bookings on the books ($7,200) with several others still stewing. 5% marketing costs..........I'll take that number every day of the week.

Much better return than Jeb Bush got on advertisement expenses compared to votes earned! :usa2:

It's been a few months now. Are you still actively running the face book ads? If so, what's the ROI been like since June?

I've slacked off but have been keeping ads running. As for ROI, I don't think I've added up actual numbers but it does produce sales on a more economical scale than WW, TK or the like. What I have noticed is you need really bright pics with good-looking brides, paired with some kind of "do it now" special offer. Right now I've only got one ad running and don't plan to ratchet that up until Thanksgiving. I do find it's important to closely monitor a new ad for per-click cost. If my ad runs $.01 to $.03 per click, I'm gold. If it's more after running for a few days, I kill the ad and start a different one. It's also hugely important to monitor the likes and click "invite" to invite that respondent to like your biz page. Bottom line, it's no magic bullet but if you work it, it's the best thing going IMHO.

Really great to hear your results, my Facebook strategy definitely needs some fine tuning.

One of the things I've been doing recently is experimenting with the Pixel, so I can stay fresh on the radar of people that visit my website. I'm hoping to take traffic from WeddingWire or other sources, and then stay in front of them on Facebook too. But the direct Facebook ads themselves haven't yielded much for me yet.

One thing that I've noticed is that if you run a single ad at a time, results are sketchy. If you run 3 or more, simultaneously, you'll see a definite up-tick in inquiries. I even had a couple of brides make mention during our F2F meeting that "your pictures were everywhere so I knew I had to call you." Now in reality, my pics weren't "everywhere". They just happened to show up multiple times, and with different pics in each ad, all within a very limited timeframe. It gave the illusion that we were everywhere and spurred a call to setup a meeting. Get the meeting, you've got the sale.

Update: Speaking of both blogs and facebook ads, I added 3 blogs to my site this morning and I just did a post boost, $75 run until the end of November, setup for a targeted demo (female, 20-55, within 75 miles). I chose this particular blog for a FB ad because the couple of good-looking and also because of one of the photos. The party photos were done, lakeside, and the groom requested we do one where they're were running scared from the lake. We photo-shopped a lake monster. Not the most realistic effort (our first at something like this) but we've gotten a lot of great response off it. Your comments welcome.

I may also run a FB ad over Thanksgiving weekend perhaps starting that Wednesday. ...I am debating this. Typically, inquiries are pretty low in November and December for weddings. I may get a few for holiday parties off of google or Gig Masters, but holiday parties seem to be in decline as time marches on and less companies, and organizations choose to even have a holiday party.

I will likely cut all advertising after Thanksgiving weekend is over until January, but I may just run a FB ad campaign.

Oh, to speaking about $75...I can blow $75 in 4 days on google adwords in my area. CPC price on there is over $4 for certain keywords just to appear on 1st page in my area. The prices are ridiculous. ....May not do google next year.

I was reading an artilce on advertising and it was talking about Facebook ads, and it mentioned something about where the ad directs the clients to, for you Rick, are you directing them to your website, or back to your FB page

My question for you , do you include any pricing in your ad?

Its funny you mention WW, when I got suckered into the sales call from them, I dont remember how it came up, but I had mention that I was considering give FB ads a try, the WW employee basically said that WW would be more effective than FB ads .

Alright, I'm in. I'm trying your multiple ads tactic. I just launched 3 ads at the same target demographic. Two are still photos, and the third is a video. They are each budgeted at $5 a day, so I'll just keep an eye on them and see how they do.

I do not include pricing. I might include a stated discount or freebie, but I never want to try and do a complete sales pitch via an FB ad. Lead them to your website or to your biz FB page. Those pages will then have a call to action button to put you in contact with them. Take the sales process in stages and give them a chance to acclimate to the idea that you are the vendor they want. Timing is everything.
