I use the Mini now more than the iPad. My Mini has 128Gb storage where my iPad has 16Gb. I have the iPad setup now to use as a casual monitor for Karaoke use.

I picked up a 64 GB Air 2 off eBay a month or so ago. It was brand new and I saved ~$120 off retail so I skipped the Apple tax. 
I really like it. I didn't quite know where it was going to fit in my computing scheme as I already have a Kindle Fire that I barely touch. I forgot just how easy/fun Apple interfaces are to use. Android is the Mircosoft of the phone world. It's a clusterfunk depending on what kind of crap apps/home screen the OEM adds.
I find myself picking up the iPad more and more though. A couple weeks ago I did my household shopping list with it. Walked through the house adding things to the list. I've tried doing that with my phone before and it was always just easier to hand write it.
I love the cohesiveness of iMessage. I'd buy an iPhone and Mac just based off of that. With Android there are so many different apps to get texts on your computer and tablet but none of them work 100% of the time.
If course a complete platform switch is going to be expensive and I don't see myself investing that much in hardware. Maybe a MacBook Pro next year but they're just plain expensive for the hardware you get, IMHO.

That was my thought, too... but then I remembered that Amazon Fire 7 (currently $39.99 at Amazon) can also do that. Also, the iPad Mini 3 was discontinued after just 11 months... I'm still thinking about it, but I'm hesitant. Just because it's $300 off doesn't mean it's not still overpriced.
I can't deal with Android .. tried too many times. To me the added cost is worth less aggravation. 128Gb will hold enough music to be a hot backup should a laptop die and I don't have time to grab a backup. I usually leave that in the car (unless it's freezing outside).
I'm OK with Android. I bought my wife a new Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 for Christmas to replace the Tab 7 Plus I bought her 3 years ago. The new one is really nice and very fast, and the price was about a third of what I paid for her first one. The old one is mine now, to do with as I please... whatever that is.[emoji1] You can never have too many toys![emoji1]

OK... I'm posting this from my new iPad Mini![emoji4] I must say, it's really weird. You guys look so much bigger. For the most part, that's not a bad thing... with the possible exception being Steve149's new avatar. [emoji3] I think it was less scary when it was just a little dot on my iPhone,[emoji1]

Hmmm??? This thing came with iOS 8.3 installed. There's an update pending to iOS 9.1.2. I could run the update, but that's the version that keeps dropping the WiFi connection on the new iPhone I just got last week. I'm a little leery![emoji53] I guess I could do a backup to my computer so I could get back to 8.3 if it doesn't work out??? I dunno???[emoji53]
