Rick, is yours first gen or second? I heard there was an issue with the mic input on the first gen. Second gen also has select-able echo on the two mic channels.

I'm not sure which edition it is. The mic channel is dead-quiet (as is the rest of the mixer) but if I crank master gain to 75% I almost can't turn the channel gain down enough on my wired mic (Shure Beta55). I picked mine up at GC on a close out. Got it for $150 and I'm still kicking myself that I didn't snag a 2nd unit.

We went with the first generation because we wanted one that was natively mapped to VDJ 7.

My back up mixer went and instead of buying a new one, I was thinking of losing my old Denon DN-1000's / mixer set up and going with the MC6000MK2. If anyone owns one, I would appreciate their feedback. Thanks ahead of time!
If you want to do more than "press play" like how some on here will use it, then may I suggest you go to the Denon Forums where you will get more hands on feedback from real life experiences.
This goes for any Brand. Having two decks in one unit and a separate Mixer can be awkwards when doing Mixes, scratches etc. This is why they make Combined units with a Mixer in the Middle. Those Mixers are designed for the Onboard Decks!

I would say go for it! I have the first generation again. I got mine for $50.00. The president of the NJDJN meeting had it for sale for $50.00. Reason I bought it was because I damaged the one I had by using the wrong power supply. That won't happen again. I love that either one is compact and light. So it's easy to carry. It works great! The price I was given was $550.00 for generation 2.

I'm guessing that means you don't have a backup yet .. don't play with fire.

DJ MixMasterMachoMachoThePlayingOnHalfOfControllerMan! I would get a back up to that unit ASAP.

As for the Denon piece. It seems to be a favorite amongst wedding jocks, but coming off of your denon decks you may have more fun with a Pioneer DDJ SX. Seems to be solid. I played with one for a few hours at a party and it was good. I don't own a controller but they seem to come a long way recently.

I was looking at getting a Pioneer controller. The one I was looking to get for backup sells for $250.00. I don't know the exact model but I was considering that for backup. One because I love Pioneer gear, 2 because it will work with VDJ and 3 because of the price.

As long as they have similar features .. or features you can live with. You don't want a piece of gear to go down, and then have to spend a lot of time figuring out how to substitute another piece in .. it needs to work about the same and in a similar fashion.
