My new "speaker condom"

I just got these out of the package last night and, although I don't have any pics to show from last night, I wanted to share. This is a stretchy-fabric that you just pull over the entire speaker encloser/cable. It really dresses the cabinets out and I got a couple of comments out the look.

Claims not to. Sounded fine to me and makes the whole thing sleeker looking.

I can see a use for white when you are at the beach or outdoors. White deflects the sunlight and could help with protecting your speakers from sea spray (salt). However, black would seem to be "death" for any self-powered speaker outdoors. If your speakers happen to be very road weary, then I guess a cover would definitely hide the chips and scratches.

I think scrims look bad no matter how they are used. Speaker covers, tripod covers, table covers, projector screens, whatever. They all look bad to me. But that's just my opinion.

I'll be anxious to see it in use. My first impression is that it looks like you put a trash bag on your speaker. I'll reserve final judgement for a real life picture, however. I'm with Wes on scrims....generally don't like 'em. Usually they succeed in drawing more attention to the area/item than without the odd shape.

That black lump looks like a laundry bag...
and would probably attract people's attention more than a speaker loaded with scratches and dents.
What's wrong with having a speaker look like a speaker?

Yeah guys, PLEASE don't use these, and start a trend, making them the "must have/new thing." Please. Because I don't ever want to do this, ever ... (My apologies and condolences to the OP notwithstanding). Never. Ever.

That road leads to madness. Not only the silliness of the speaker covers, but then the "need" for multiple colors, for any occasion and all possible bridesmaids dress combinations. Then there's the velvet speaker-stand covers. Quickly followed by multi-colored, floral-pattern knob covers for all outboard gear, and doilie-shaped faders and slider for the mixer, Lennox woodland-pattern porcelain lighting trussing, etc., etc., etc. We draw the line here. NO.
