:sqerr: Hello everyone, I need some advice on a DJ set up purely to play at parties. I have asked for some advice from a few shops and they all took me over to the $7000 Pioneer gear. So maybe someone here can give me some honest advice....
So I'm leaning towards a digital set up.I do have a laptop And I'm liking the demo i have of Traktor.
These are the two Digital DJ Mixers I'm Looking at:
http://www.storedj.com.au/products/product.php?id=1463 and
http://www.storedj.com.au/products/product.php?id=2198

Are these good for the job?
Also are there any other components I need for my set up ? I do have a pair of passive speakers and i have lights/effects, so thats all sorted out.

So yea help would be very much appreciated since ive been searching for answers for ages!!! cheers.

Give Ben at NLFX a call. He has everything you need, and he won't direct you down the path of financial ruin.

Welcome to the site! What type of parties are you talking about, how many people?

Thanks mate. I'm talking about local birthday partys and get togethers. I'm not looking at playing at venues, just at peoples houses and with maybe 40 to 80 people. Is the set up i have in mind practical for my goals? I just want the gear that i need, nothing over the top. thanks

Too easy!

Two Denon DN-S1200 CD / MP3 players / controllers: http://www.denondj.com/DN-S1200-P52.aspx
One Denon DX-120 mixer: http://www.denondj.com/DN-X120-P68.aspx
Road Ready coffin: http://store.roadreadycases.com/dyn_prod.php?p=RRCDJDNS10W&k=113902
One pair FBT Hi-MaxX 40a powered speakers: http://www.rmcaudiodirect.com/FBT-Hi-MaxX-40a-powered-speaker-p/himaxx-40a.htm
Pair of Ultimate Telelock TS-90B stands: http://www.ultimatesupport.com/s.nl/it.A/id.901/.f
One Chauvet Colorstrip for lighting: http://www.chauvetlighting.com/colorstrip.html

Done!!! Best part is that none of this would have to be replaced in the future. You can build on it. All high quality gear that will last. The Denon stuff is rock solid and reasonably priced. I use the older model of the decks. FBT speakers rock harder than any other for their size and weight and are available where you are. They are very popular there too I might add...
