I've been working with the sponsors on this one...could be big (could bomb:sqerr:)

Of course I will play all the current stuff they want to hear...BUT....I just bought a DVD from the source (classic vision - new skool vol. 2 Jan 08) that has a bunch of old school its on it....so every once and awhile I'm going to throw an old school hit on the big screen and give out prizes for the kids doing the best dance impression of the song (or just those getting after it). The sponsors are supplying the give aways...I'll throw in some glow items and see how it goes. If the crowd is stuck up, they'll hate it...if they are ready to dance and have a good time it will be huge! I'm trying it March 15th at the 2nd largest high school in Missouri!!!! I'll let you know how it goes:

Here are the songs/Video's I'm using -

1. Pray - MC Hammer
2. Hip hop hooray - Naughty by nature
3. Ice ice baby - Vanilla Ice
4. Treat em' right - Chubb Rock
5. Insane in the membrane - Cypress Hill
6. Supersonic - JJ Fad
7. 1,2,3,4 - Coolio
8. C'mon ride this train - Quad city DJ's

Cross your fingers :sqeek:

Thoughts?

Kris awesome idea also you might want to add to the contest by awarding folks for knowing the song name and Artist maybe playing a snippet for the prize. Do this only on a natural break like before a slow set or out of the slow set then add what you feel comfortable with in regards to contest. Remember to consider outside vendors who would love gaining the trust and customer base of the young crowds.

Kris,

You won't go wrong with this one. It's probably the best conga line-type of song that's been released in the last several years. Everyone can dance to it.

I remember it as a "ventilation" dance at the middle school shows ~ the entire crowd would be moving around the floor and it created a breeze. :)

Kris, Could be interesting. Kids like a challenge and if nothing else, It could be a challenge for the younger teachers too to demo their skillz...! I'd bet the students will love the video.
