I have Richie working for me at the club, and I have a wedding. I'm breaking out my new Vue III's for this one. I'm putting them on the floor and aimed at the ceiling. This place has a fantastic vaulted ceiling. Pics tonight.

I got some video...

I'm too tired right now to put it on YouTube and link it... I'll get it posted later today. They worked FANTASTICALLY however. The dance floor was packed till closing time, and I got a $120 tip... I'm happy.

BTW: this was my FIRST $1495 gig too.

Couple more shots from last night...

I had to include this one... eat your heart out Chuck!!!

Tyrone thanks for the VUE haha. Most folks know Im not thrilled about the Vues look it looks like a Spencers Gifts effect on Crack to me but having said that I do like it better on the ceiling and certainly it is powerful look at the second video and the curtains are all open hes pointing it on the ceiling yet it is washing the crowd as well. Pretty powerful if I do say so myself. Tyrone what fx did you have going along with the vue? Thanks for sharing the videos etc my friend.

I had Vertigos...

...Avengers, Sunrays III's and Orbitrons running last night... The second video has the Avengers (you can just see them over the top of my drape), and Orbitrons flashing the white spots.

Here's the front of the set-up.

Dude, that is one helluva lot of equipment... I sure hope the pay is commensurate with amount of work.....

Tyrone, what speakers were you running? The tops look like EVs, but I can't tell what the bottoms are...(durn bifocals :sqmad:).

Yep...

Tops are EV's and the bottoms are cheapos... I bought them a few years ago, when my normal subs blew up during the winter (moisture inside when I brought them into a warm gig). I like the cheapos so much, I left them in my touring system.

My other subs are loaded with B-52's speakers (when I repaired them) and I use them in the club during the winter. I have 12 inch Peaveys with them. And I still haven't fired up my new stuff yet... all JBL SRX series (4 duel 18 subs and 4 - 15 inch tops)

Papa... Actually, this isn't my biggest set-up. I normally would have two Accu Spots on top of the speakers, and better strobes. I also use several white moon flowers, but didn't take the time to hook them up. I had to do this one alone, and I didn't want a two hour breakdown. And, it was worth it... read post #3.

The worth comment... LOL we do and bring stuff to our gigs that a lot of time is really for us.

Do we really need it? No,,, do we like it ? YES!!!!!

Buying gear, mostly lighting is really for us. We need to have some lighting but most of the time we could get away with a lot less and make the same money, but we DJs do like our toys!!!

:) :) :)

How much time would you say the lighting set-up you have their added to your set-up time?

lighting always takes forever to set up,,,, that's why if you look at it from a money sorta way, it isn't worth it...

I can go in with my light tree and be set up in 45 mins, less if I hurry, or I can take in trussing, and have to be there 2 hours before, make the same money and get the same refferals, ,,,,I hope,,, :) But lights are cool!!! :)

I take in my mono Acrobat and am set.

Yes it does all I need for most events school gigs and big corporates require more.Thats why I have two acrobats and am goingto get the weidamarks and software DMX.:sqeek:

Two Hours...

From the moment I'm backed up to the door, till I'm "on the air" is two hours. I can strike and get out in an hour and a half.

I started thinking about not setting up lights, then thought differently. I don't think I want my name attached to a show without lights.

There are ways to cut that time 'way down' --- when I was doing a full truss and sound similiar to your set up Tyrone, it took me 45 minutes to set up by myself and twenty five minutes with someone helping. And, a half hour to tear down and be packed and on the road.

I'm currenty rebuilding a 2 t-bar system and I reckon it will take me about 30 minutes to be set up and running when I'm done. I'll post pics as soon as I'm finished.

You know that sounds a whole like what my wife said when I said I wanted to venture into lights!!!!!!!
