A few pics from the free New Haven and Yale sponsored event. Great music .. though the pushy crowd left a lot to be desired .. once the music started, all the "aisleways that were supposed to be clear" were filled up. We were sitting and had to stand for the entire event to see. I had to hold my camera at arms length above my head and hope that it focused on something close.

No way, you had to stand at a concert, that's crazy, "side note, there may be some sarcasm in this comment"

What happened was the walkways, that were not supposed to have anyone standing, filled in. The police swept it once and then gave up. This was a lawn chair setup that ended up not being one because the stragglers decided they wanted to be up front and not in the rear. Kind of defeated the reason of getting there a few hours erly and setting up the blankets and such. Next time, might as well come in at the last minute and push my way to the front.

I never seen a concert where it didn't fill up like that, I would it's way more fun to perform to a crowd like that than to a bunch of old people sitting on lawn chairs and blankets

I'm sure it is .. it would have been ok if they marketed it that way instead of the blanket on the green thing. And it wasn't a young persons event .. I would guess the median age at 55.

Looks like ole KC has picked up a few pounds since the time I saw him at Disney's Pleasure Island many moons ago. I must admit he put on a great show.

Looks like KC might have eaten the concertgoers who got a little too close to the stage. Yikes.

KC did recently say "I'm 62 now, quit smoking and put on some weight... thinking of renaming the band "KFC" and The Sunshine Band. "

True story: I once worked for a radio station that paid $10K to bring in KC & The Sunshine Band for a show. The "band" consisted of two backup singers and a DAT tape for them to sing along to. Additionally, K.C. wouldn't go on stage until we had Evian water for him. The Poland Springs water that the venue supplied wasn't good enough. The stage at the venue wasn't good enough, either - it was one of those porta-stages that pieces together in sections. Most of us had to stand at the edge of the stage, pushing our full body weight towards it to keep the sections from separating when KC was dancing.

Hopefully he put on a better show for New Haven than he did for New Bedford.
