Well, the 2012 Prom season just wrapped up for us. Tomorrow i've got a huge wedding to prepare for but i thought i'd share a great track and a showcase of a couple of the proms that we had this season. This year went off perfectly and next year i've already got contracts for 2 new High Schools i've never worked with and another Middle School. Feel free to share your thoughts :)

Just some food for thought. We are DJs on this site so we are not going to appeal to you as clients. Your Video is geared towards clients, not us here on ODJT. What is there to be learned from the Video? There are no "behind the scenes" shots, the DJ area, equipment etc. This will be my interest from which something can be learned. What equipment you used to cover the space provided to get coverage etc.

Think in terms of a Doctor publishing a Paper for a cure for an ailment. He only shows photos of people who have been cured and not talk about the medicines, method of treatments etc used to affect said treatment/cure. That would be boring won't you say? There would be little value if any for those other Doctors reading the publication.

There are some on here that give great photo journals and videos of setup to finish. I can vividly remember Kevin Nichols from Georgia sharing a Video with us a few years ago. I thought it was excellent the way he narrated and showed everything. You don't have to give the Model and specs of the equipment used, just what was used, the amount of people in attendance etc. Just saying.

Not everything i share is to teach you something Houston :triwink: While i do have plenty of those , this is simply a Look back on a great Prom season with a nice track to listen to. That is why this is not in the gig logs section. This post was not put up with the intention of being a gig log. Sorry you didn't enjoy it.
Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy it but learned nothing new.

Dont mind the Grump Shaner.......... The beauty of the core of Western Civilization and the internet is still in effect that you have the right to post whatever you want if somebody doesnt like it oh well cry to mama. Naysayers certainly make a point of posting as they please so its pretty much a moot point eh??

This is a prime reason whay many don't post gig logs or vids.....If you haven't got anything good to say........(you know the rest)

There was nothing grumpy or naysaying about my comments. It was just an observation.

Show me where I said something bad in the post? Show me!
Another failure of comprehension.
Are you saying all we are supposed to do is "pat" everyone on the back and rubber stamp everything as great and wonderful?

but you are saying you have the magical formula and hold the rule book here Canute. Its simply not the case. People can post their adventures as they wish. They arent on a forum for your sole benefit. You post as you do and expect everyone to kneel below and yet you attempt to tell people how they must post a thread. He didnt even post in a gig log but the reality is he doesnt have to follow your guidelines regardless. You can certainly ask questions or ask for other pictures or details but you approach it as tho one must follow your format or one you read on Ultimate Audio Setups . com.

I simply gave my opinion/Comments. If you will take the time to read his O it says "Feel free to share your thoughts". Do you need glasses to see or a Grammar book to comprehend?

I like it!!!

You chastised him for posting a "gig log" that wasn't to your specifications; who made you King of online forums? and to top it of, not one comment event related to what you saw. Are you speaking for all of us here?

Wonder why Kevin Nichols doesn't post here any more? You won't have to look far....

You made a point to say you didn't learn anything from the video and then told Ken how to post so you could .. Not all posts are designed for YOU to learn something from. Some of us DID learn some things, and for that, we thank Ken for the post !

I appreciate being able to see what the show looked like. The NorthEast DJ's videos were very impressive. This one was educational for me. I was able to see what appeared to be a fairly centralized truss setup. I could count the moving heads and I (and my nine year old) noticed we liked the laser effects. The Goyte (I call him Goyter) mix was a good one. I have ten remixes of that tune (fatrat is my preferred) but if I have to hear another I may puke... please God let Dave Guetta make another song with twelve Top 40 artists and a oontz oontz beat so we can never hear Goyter again!

Those of us without 20 year's experience appreciate every post.

Like it or not I was sharing my thoughts! It is one thing to say something is missing without saying what is. Just as a guest at an event can come up and say they don't like the music, they should then say what they do like. It does not mean you have to play it!

Those lasers are my favorite also :) They are the Chauvet GVC lasers and i HIGHLY recommend them to anyone that plays shows where you can use lots of Haze or Fog. You have to completely Haze or fog a room out for them to really give a good effect, but once you fill the room they are incredibly awesome to watch. We have an ipad synced up to the Show Xpress controlling the show and i literally took a chair out to the dance floor during sound checks to Play with the lasers from out on the dance floor looking up LOL
