Hank is worth his weight in Gold my Logo led several others to inquire. This one looks like a generic effort in my view.

Steve, here is a logo for a Canadian wedding singer / DJ. I don't think it's cheesy at all... I do agree with what's been said though, that you should talk to Hank.

Thanks for the praise fellas, but I certainly don't believe that I'm the answer to all logo endeavors. I've always been about encouraging people to "do for themselves" when at all possible. If you have the right tools, you have the potential. In this case, the right tool is an Adobe product (Photoshop, Illustrator, Elements) or similar. Clipart out of the box is so '80s. You really need to stay away from it unless you can edit it.
There are lots of royalty free graphics out there and online services like istockphoto, etc., are not that expensive.
I'm sure that many of the design savvy members here including myself would be happy to offer tips and direction, just as we do for DJ related topics. So don't be shy.

First one seems to imply a live act.
Second one is not so bad, perhaps add headphones and an old Elvis style mic in front of him. It looks like the graphic almost implies headphones, just needs to be tweaked a bit.
