Well I am having my first problem with 4.2 I dumped the 4.1 demo and library and thought 4.2 was taking the songs but alas it is not happening it will go completely through the process but nothing comes up in the program library.

I have removed all other DJ programs that I was running and reloaded 4.2 again but still unable to save the library.

I think I will reload 4.1 back onto the computers I am assuming that the key code will work on the older system as well.

My guess, is that you tried to install 4.2, while 4.1 was running. That's a no-no, and would probably explain the share error (Rockit needs to access and copy files from the older version, during install)...

It would also probably corrupt both installs, and both libraries.

We try, but we can't anticipate every scenario... ;) :)

I would uninstall both, remove the C:\SoftJock folder, and reinstall 4.2 fresh, and reload yer library -- should be good to go then :)

Done and working thank you Rick :sqwink:

I actually did that before you answered LOL

Hey Rick,

Here's one feature I'd love to see on the next update. It's on Red 5.2 BTW.

If you try to load a track into deck A and a song is already playing there, can you make it so a warning similar to the one when you shut down ("are you sure?") appears before it actually loads?

I made that mistake Saturday night, although the buffer made it sound much less awkward than it was. But I still felt like an a*s.

I know I'm asking you to correct MY mistake....not yours!

I really like Rockit4. (I downloaded the demo). A couple of quick questions.

1. Is there a way to quickly setup the library to match my music directories on my harddrive? I have my music in my MUSIC folder simply arranged in sub-folders folders called disco, country, big band, etc on my harddrive. What is an easy way to get my Rockit library to match this structure? That is how I find songs I need quickly.

2. I've been using the (wood?) skin and love it. But, is there another simply skin like that that will allow me to occasionally drop a "video" into one of the players?

3. Has anyone had a problem getting the looping to be seamless? Everytime I set a loop, it always seems to "skip a beat" when returning to the beginning of the loop.

It's not really needed in Rockit, as it will split them up automatically based upon your tags. You could however, create playlists based on each folder you have setup -- just right click a folder under My Computer, and choose Create Playlist from folder.

There are a few skins that have a video deck on them (I don't recall off the top of my head which ones) -- try them all. Plus, there are more on the website.

Rockit does not do seamless looping -- it is a streaming protocol. It's best resolution, is somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2 second.

Answers in red :)

Thank you!

I've right-clicked and added a playlist called 80's. I then navigated to the folder with my 80's music. I tried the CTRL multy-select of all the mp3's in that folder and clicked "add". Nothing added.

However. When I tried that same routine, and selected maybe 5 or six songs from that folder, they all added successfully to the 80's playlist.

Is there a limitation to the amount of songs you can add "at one time" to a playlist?

The only tags I have on my files are Artist -Title. I don't have the genre, year, album, etc... Perhaps I need to add those fields tags?

I'd NEVER be able to back to my MP3's to input the ALBUM they came from. That would take months. And, I'ave only got 12k in MP3's.

Right click the FOLDER under My Computer, and click Create Playlist from folder -- it does all the work for you :)

No -- but see above -- it's much easier.

Rockit has a mutli-file tag editor built into it.

You could also use Tag&Rename, MediaMonkey, etc., and they would look up the info for you :)

........

Rick --- would it be an inconvenience or too much on the processor of RockIt to allow the naming of a history list? Say, upon closing, a pop up box that would include the current default info, but able to rename it?

Easily doable. Be interested if more are interested in this (reason I mention, is because I've found that most folks want to shut down, and get loaded out in a hurry)...

I put it in the book -- can probably make it an option :)

BTW, at present, you can always rename a history file later -- just right click, and choose rename to whatever you want (bride and groom name, party name, etc.).

I closed down last gig and was able to scour history and the playlist. Perhaps I am misunderstanding the request.

he has two or three on his site if you updated to the 4.2 they are IN THE SELECTION LIST.

Been there a few weeks ago... none match mine.

In fact, I used Rockit today for my whole event on a netbook... was rather difficult to use because I couldn't get one that fit.

What size screen?
Two with the name NB 100 and NB Video and NB Blue Widescreen are what he has there none of those work?

Netbook screens are almost all 1024 x 600 -- there are 3 Rockit skins to match that (I also did a version of DJ-200 -- but forgot about putting it on the site) :)

I'll try and get around to it tomorry...

Well, that sounds right, without having my netbook here, but the bottom gets cut off.
