Hi, I need to pick up at least two wireless mics and although I know the quality of shure products my budget really won't allow them at the moment. Anybody have wirelsess mics that they are quite happy with.

Thanks, Dean

Hey there and welcome to the forum!

Here's a couple of good posts in here for you.

I use a Shure ULX Beta 58. Although out of your price range, its been well worth the extra money.
Also I use a less expensive AKG WMS40 and have had no troubles with it.

These are probably out of budget for you at the moment too, but wireless is one area I would not cut corners. Better to not have a product than to have one that doesn't work reliably.

I'm real hot on the EV RE2 series right now. 1122 channels with ClearScan and an inaudible carrier tone to prevent unwanted signals from passing into your audio. Really not expensive when you think about what you're getting.

Are you looking for handhelds, headsets, lavs????

If you're looking for a really inexpensive solution you can find Nady DKW duo mics on ebay for around $50 for a pair of mics including the receiver. They aren't that great as far as sound sensitivity, but depending on what you want them for they can be workable. For announcing they're fine, for singing, most people won't know the difference-a professional will definitely know the difference. In a bar for Karaoke where people are drunk and can drop the mic etc. they are good and cheap. Go to a Guitarcenter if you have them in your area and they will let you try them out. Edit:I just saw this Gemini dual wireless setup in another thread and it seemed like it should be added because it's a great deal.

I wish I would have found this forum before I started buying MY equipment.

Proud owner of two of these with the 767 heads. I even got to speak with an EV VP when I was wrapping up a subwoofer purchase from Ben.

Sennheiser EW-100 series.

Probably over your budget, but when you consider how many times you will have to replace the cheep mics, the Senn is a better deal over the long haul....

When buying wireless remember to stay below 700 mhz in frequency otherwise after analog tv switches off in 2009 you might not be able to use it.

Same here...

You'll never forgive yourself for buying a cheapo mic. Go with Ben's suggestion and you'll never have to buy it again.

Shure, Sennhieser, Audio Technica.....EV? Don't they make speakers lol

Yes, the are a transducer company. Mics and speakers are electrically nearly identical. EV's first product (in 1927) was a microphone. In fact, for years they were known as the "microphone company".

They even made Shure's wirelesses for them for years. ;)

the Geminis are good entry level

however the handling noise from them even the diversity model I purchased a few yrs back (highly recommend diversity in whatever choice you make) isnot so good when you attempt to allow amateurs including clients etc to use it. I would recommend as others have to buy a Shure, Sennheiser or AT.

i don't know about you guys, but between rave party djs, ring announcers tripping and falling, drunk karaoke singers and "rock and roll" stars fumbling, dropping and slamming my mics, causing constant breakage, i just buy the 4 mic pyle pro pdwm 5000 outfit..cost around $120 and i have 4 mics available all the time in case one gets "accidentally broke"...but then again, you sacrafice quality vocal reproduction..as for me alone, Shure PGX14/PG30 Headset Wireless Microphone System.

I'll second the recommendations on the Sennheiser and the EV wirelesses... Can't go wrong either way.

Offering advice

LOL and forgetting my endeavor to try out the EV mic in Vegas. Ben supplys these and stands strongly by the quality and performance.
