    Some good advice

And remember, we were all beginners once.

To beat mix or not, that is the question...

If you are a club DJ, I get it. You need to beat mix an keep the floor full with slow breaks to let them get refills. But for the rest? When I was in the game I did mostly weddings and parties. Beat mixing was rarely a requirement so I never really got into it.

What do you do when planning to do an event for a client?

The first thing I tried to do is find out what the customer wants. After all, it is their event, not mine. Part of that is getting as many details as you can including the venue. If there was anything in what they wanted that I did not feel comfortable with or could not do I would let them...

    Carousel

Is everyone enjoying their brave new 1984 world? The only reason why we don't have carousel yet is because all the politicians are past the age. Everybody that would get this would have gone to carousel.

Fat burner: Apple Cider Vinegar... In a tall glass: 1. 4 packs of Truvia 2. Enough Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar to cover the Truvia. 3. 1 10 ounce bottle of Canada Dry Club Soda. 4. Ice

    An early start

Just be careful with who you hire. Vet them well because some can come back to bite you.

    Mics?

In regard to the Shure 55, I don't know why I did not get one of these while I was in business. That workhorse has been around since 1925. I tended to stay near my gear when I was playing and only used wireless for karaoke and when I wanted to roam; which was far more than it should have been.

    Facebook Muting

Listen to Scott Hana about the right to play being venue specific. Technically speaking, if you or the venue is not paying the royalties on the piece then you are not allowed to play it in a public venue. Now, what is a public venue? That question allows the DJ to squeeze through the loop...

    Mics?

With all the wireless mic channels being gobbled up, what's your solution? Honestly, I loved the freedom to be able to walk around a venue and basically speak from anywhere, but, have DJs become to dependent on that? Sure, I was speaking from "anywhere" in the venue but my speakers were where...

    Karaoke - One Night Only

Before I shut down in 2010 I was doing a lot of karaoke. I did then exactly what Proformance says. This is wise advice whether there is a pandemic or not.

    Sorry for the interruption

As Homer would say, "Doh!"
